Based in Paris, where he was born and raised, Double V, aka Valentin Vignet directs documentary films, music videos, and commercials.

After studying in France and China, he graduated from the American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles in 2011.

In 2017, his documentary experience earned his grandmother Agnès Varda’s and JR's trust to bring him on as cinematographer for their Academy Award-nominated film, Faces Places. 

He returned to the Oscars in 2020 with the nominated live-action short, Nefta Football Club, directed by Yves Piat. 

He recently served as cinematographer for the documentary For Love, directed by Matt Smiley and narrated by Shania Twain, to be released on Netflix in late 2022. 

In the meantime, Valentin has been working on various music videos, commercials and narratives as a cinematographer (Arnaud Valois, Christophe Gans, Zoe Wittock). 

He is represented by Cosmic Talents worldwide and Fortissimo Talents  in Asia. 

Valentin just finished the Official Beijing Olympics 2022 Film, for which he served as co-director for Director  Lu Chuan.
